If you’re looking for a unique party for your kids birthday and those same kids just happen to love animals, look no further than Silly Safaris.

What kid doesn’t love animals? With Silly Safaris you get to let them see and interact with some really great things they may only see on Discovery Channel.

Rob Bell Speaking at the Murat

rob-bell

Christian author and speaker, Rob Bell, will be speaking at the Murat on November 30 at 8:00pm. I was first introduced to Rob Bell through my brother talking about his book “Velvet Elvis: Repainting the Christian Faith”.

After that our life group at church focused on a few of his NOOMA video series for our discussion starters. I thought these were very powerful videos to watch and did a great job of inspiring thought and discussion into our group.

He’s now touring with his “the gods aren’t angry tour“, which is making it’s stop in Indianapolis this Friday.

Part anthropology, part history, part deconstruction - this is new material that Rob hasn’t taught before, exploring how humans invented religion to make themselves feel better.Part anthropology, part history, part deconstruction - this is new material that Rob hasn’t taught before, exploring how humans invented religion to make themselves feel better.

Regretfully I won’t be able to attend as we’ll be celebrating my son’s birthday that evening. If you do attend, I’d love to hear your thoughts about what he shared.

Dave Ramsey Live Event in Indianapolis

dave-ramsey-pepsi-coliseum

Last week Dave Ramsey, personal finance author and speaker, was in Indianapolis at the Pepsi Coliseum. I volunteered at the event and a friend that volunteered with me pointed me to some of these photos they’ve posted on their website.

This is my first event I’ve attended at the Pepsi Coliseum. I wasn’t sure about it but it turned out to be a great venue. Let me also say that volunteering for the event was another great experience. Dave Ramsey’s staff were a joy to work with and made the entire 9 hour process fun and memorable.

If anyone is interested, they’re having a special Thanksgiving sale of their books and materials. Loads of items are all just $10 each.
