Tommy Davidson at Morty’s Comedy Club Tonight
Author: Jason Bean, Category: Celebrities, Comedy, Humor, North Side, Things To Do in Indy
Who can forget this scrawny little comedian that made some of the funniest moments in television and movies? My favorite is probably his African warrior character from Ace Venture 2: When Nature Calls.
Now you can catch him live and in person at Morty’s Comedy Club tonight through Sunday night. Get all the details here at Morty’s Comedy Club website.

Celebrities at the Indy 500
Author: Jason Bean, Category: Celebrities, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Indy 500, Speedway
I attended my first Indianapolis 500 this past weekend and had a great time. I have friends that come in from Vegas every year, they usually come for the F1, but since it’s not running they decided to continue the tradition and just switch it to the Indianapolis 500.
We had a blast. Had some good seats and got to see some celebrities. I’ll have to admit though, I didn’t know a lot of them, here are two that we had to ask who they were.
Whitney Thompson - Winner of "America’s Next Top Model"
Drew Lachey - from 98 Degrees and "Dancing with the Stars"
More pictures of other famous people that were at the race to come!

Congratulations to Helio Castroneves - Dancing Star!
Author: Jason Bean, Category: Celebrities, Indy 500, Indy Pro Athletes
A name familiar to most Indy residents, at least those interested in the racing community is Helio Castroneves. Helio was one of the “stars” chosen for this year’s season of “Dancing with the Stars” and ended up winning with his dance partner, Julianne Hough.
Julianne may be the secret ingredient though as she was also last year’s winner with Olympic speed skating champion Apolo Anton Ohno.
Either way, Helio proved he was as quick with his feet on the dance floor as he was with he automobile driving on the racetrack.
Congratulations again to Helio!

Me and Some Politicians Take In A Pacers Game
Author: Jason Bean, Category: Celebrities, Conseco Fieldhouse, Elected Officials, Government, Indiana Pacers, Indy Pro Athletes, People, Politics
A friend of mine (thank you Aaron!) called me on Saturday to see if I were interested in going to an Indiana Pacer’s game. He had tickets and wasn’t able to go. He said they were really good tickets and I figured it would be a good early birthday gift for my son.
I have been an anti-Pacer’s fan ever since there continued run ins with the law and less than common sense decision making.
I’ve got to say I’m pleased with their performance. They played the Dallas Mavericks and came out with a win. In the meantime, ending the Mav’s 5-game winning streak as well. I’ve got to say it’s a whole new team as well, at least from my memory. The vast majority of the players are new to me, the only names I really recognized as being around for awhile were: Tinsley, O’Neal (didn’t play) and Jeff Foster.
I’m not ready to go buy season tickets yet, but I’m pleased to say that my earlier opinion of the Pacers may be melting a bit. They looked good at the game and played well as a team. Hopefully Coach O’Brien will be just what the doctor ordered and get some discipline and restraint for our team and players.
The only person not showing some restraint at the game was Mav’s coach, Avery Johnson. He slightly disagreed with the Ref Salvatore on a call. He actually went after him, chased him down the floor to give him some more suggestions on how he should call the game. That got him ejected. Buh-bye.
There were also a number of big names in attendance, continue reading to see the photos of the people in attendance.

It’s BLUE Thursday
Author: Jason Bean, Category: Celebrities, Downtown, Indianapolis Colts, Indy Pro Athletes, Local Musicians, News, RCA Dome, Special Events, Things To Do in Indy
In case you’ve been living under a rock for the past year. It’s NFL kick-off time and the reigning world champions are none other than the Indianapolis Colts.
Today is officially Blue Thursday and there’s lots of events on the schedule today. Of course there’s the NFL kick-off concert and party that will be at Monument Circle downtown. The festivities start off with the group Hinder at 5:15pm, the inaugural American Idol winner, Kelly Clarkson at 6:00pm and country music singer Faith Hill at 7:00pm.
For you Colts fans, if you haven’t heard, St. Vincent Children’s Hospital is now called Peyton Manning’s Children Hospital at St. Vincent. That name change was announced yesterday, I’m sure the NFL will probably pick-up on that bit of news during tonight’s game.
Indiana native John Cougar Mellencamp will be performing in the RCA Dome before the game as well and Keyshia Cole will be singing the National Anthem.
If you’re not into the Colts but want to do something downtown, you can join a group of protesters in Pan Am Plaza complaining about the Indiana property tax situation.
If you’re not into any of that stuff, you might be interested in Big Brother 8, it’s eviction night tonight!
