Colts Give Titans Cakewalk into Playoffs

TN-Titans-poster I got to go to the last regular season game in the RCA Dome last night and it was a good time. The seats were great, very front row of the upper deck.

The problem with the game is they didn’t play to win. When Harrison walked out in regular clothes I knew Peyton wasn’t going to be in the game for long. I just didn’t realize how little he was going to play. They pulled him early in the 2nd quarter along with the rest of the starting offense.

I understand resting your players to prepare for the play-offs, but my opinion is you don’t let yourself lose to a division opponent, especially the Titans! People are going to feel pretty bad if we meet them in the playoffs and they beat us. We deserve to lose if they do though.

As my friend Mark said, (thanks again for the ticket!) these guys are getting paid nicely to play football and win games. The fans have paid good money to wear their jerseys and buy season tickets and they don’t even try to win the game last night. That was pretty irritating. They could have easily left Peyton in for the first half and probably gotten a one or two touchdown lead.

The defense played well enough to keep the Titans from scoring most of the time and we could have probably easily kept a “W” in the win column for us. Not last night though.

My wife had an interesting thought though about the loss. It may be better to let an opponent you’re familiar with win and get to the playoffs than to let a team you’ve never played this year, the Cleveland Browns, to have the opportunity to meet you instead. That actually makes sense, just wish they’d at least attempt to make the win.
