Final Regular Season Game in the RCA Dome

Last week my son and I got to enjoy the Colts vs. Texans home game. My wife purchased the tickets as a birthday gift for my son and they were great! While we were at the game they were making announcements about this week’s game being the last regular season game in the RCA Dome.
I was thinking then that it would be great to be able to get tickets for the game and be able to be there for the last home game in the dome. At the time I didn’t think about it too much because of the unlikelihood of me actually getting tickets.
On Christmas day a friend of mine called and said he got two tickets to this week’s game from his father-in-law and asked me if I wanted to join him. Duh! Of course. So, I’ll be at the game tomorrow night in the dome. Thanks Mark!
As you can see from the photo above from last week’s game, the stands are a sea of blue and white Colts jerseys being worn by the great fans of Indianapolis. Imagine for a minute the amount of money represented by all those jerseys. (57,980 seats, if 85% were wearing a jersey with the average price of $60 would equal just under $3M!)
The rumor is that Marvin Harrison will be starting again and they hope to get some serious reps in for Marvin and Peyton to warm-up before the play-offs. I’m not sure that the Colts are worried about winning the game, but my opinion is you don’t let the Titans win a game regardless of it’s impact. They should play this game like it’s a first-round play-off game and let that be a serious practice.
On a bit of a business related side note. Did you know that if you go to www.rcadome.com it automatically redirects to the Thomson Electronics (originally named RCA) website with absolutely no mention to the RCA Dome? What’s up with that?
For all the details that should be listed on a domain name as www.rcadome.com, go to the Wikipedia entry for the RCA Dome or the official website with a stupid URL at www.iccrd.com/dome
