Indianapolis Woos MotoGP Race to IMS

Looks like Indianapolis and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway continues to expand it’s presence into all forms of racing. The Indianapolis Business Journal is reporting that MotoGP may be joining the ranks of other races at the Speedway in the fall of 2008.

“The deal isn’t done yet,” Nation told IBJ. “If it happens, we hope to have [the motorcycle race] in the second half of 2008. Of course, when the agreement is final, we’ll make an announcement because we want to start selling tickets.”

I love it! Anyone know the total financial impact that the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the associated races bring to our city every year? I’m sure the amount would be astronomical. I’m sure my friend Del would love this news.
