Flooding

storm-greenwood-2008-06-07

I’ve been looking for a female, albino aardvark all day and just can’t find one. The rain actually stopped so maybe I should stop collecting animal pairs. Now what in the world am I going to do with these two walruses?

How’s everyone? Did you make it through the rains? Is your property flooded? Where are you located? I’d love to see some photos and stories of what the past 24 hours has been like for each of you.

My photo above was taken from the parking lot of Texas Roadhouse off of 135 in Greenwood. This photo does nothing for what it really looked like. I wish I had my real camera with me. The sky right over our heads was dark and stormy, while the sky to the north was this weird, eerie shade of yellowish orange.

I snapped a couple of photos from my front porch on Friday night — the sky was an insanely bright and fire like red-orange. http://alphabetbydesign.com/2008/06/07/glowing-skies/

Like you said, my point-and-shoot camera didn’t do the view justice, but still turned out pretty good. The sky behind me was clear and blue.

Thanks for sharing Karissa. You caught the color of the sky perfectly! All the orange in my picture above that looks like a fireball was more of this burnt ochre of a color all across the horizon to the north.
